On this combined tour, you will discover two central Asian countries, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Uzbekistan has a great history, amazing architecture and Tajikistan will attract you with its beautiful mountains, and lakes. The highlights of the trip are Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand, Penjikent, Marguzor lakes, and Dushanbe.

Day 1: Arrival in Tashkent (please let me know your flight information) In and around Tashkent
Pick up at airport of Tashkent and transfer to hotel in Tashkent.
Breakfast in the hotel. Afternoon city tour in Tashkent with a local guide and car with private driver. Visit Old city, Hasti Imam complex with Osman Koran of 7 th century, Chorsu bazaar, Applied Arts Museum, Tashkent metro. Overnight in 3-star hotel.

Transfer to airport of Tashkent for your flight to Urgench at 0730-0840. Pick up at Urgench airport and transfer to Khiva. Upon arrival you will do a walking tour of Ichan kala of Khiva . It is an old town existing since 16 century and with territory of 2 hectares and surrounded with a city wall of 2 km. You will see a city museum under open sky with madrasah, mosque, minarets, workshops, harem and palace of KHiva khanate built in 16-10 centuries. Your hotel is located in the old town inside city walls. Overnight

Upon arrival in Bukhara you will proceed for city tour in Bukhara. The most impressive site in Bukhara is Laby Hauz, the heart of Bukhara where you will see chayhana, cafe, restaurants, water pond, mosques, madrasa, Hanaka of Nadir Divan Bgei, gallery, workshop and Souvenir shops. Visit trade Domes of Bukhara: Taki Sarafan, Taki Telpakfurushon and Taki Zargaron and the ancient Jewish quarter with a school and synagogue. Continue to Ark Citadel dating back to 1-19 Centuries, Kalyan Minaret and Kalyan Mosque. You will finish the tour at Ismail Samani mausoleum and Chashmai Ayub mausoleum. Overnight in the traditional guest house with modern facilities.

After breakfast in the hotel, Begin the visit to Summer Palace - Sitorai Mohi Hosa - one of the most prominent sites in Bukhara where you will discover the mixture of local and russian-european architecture style. The Palace was built outside of the city with a big garden and harem. Continue to the mausoleum and necropolis of Bahauddin Naqshabandiy, the leader of Sufism in Bukhara. Since old time pilgrims used to come and pay a visit to the holy place before going to Haj and those who can not make a trip to Haj they come to this place as it is equal as you visit to Mekka. PM return to your hotel and enjoy your free time. You may want to try the local Bukhara Hammam or enjoy the evening Folk Music and Dance show at Nadir Divan Begi madrasah. Overnight in GH.

Transfer to railway station of Bukhara and catch your train at 0800-0945. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. Enjoy your city tour with a local guide and visit famouse Registan square with 3 madrasah built in different periods from 15 Century to 17 Century but looking as one complex.
Later we will take you to Siab bazar and Bibihanim market. Lunch break at one of the local Chayhana of Samarkand and enjoy local food.
PM continue sightseeing and visit: Konigil village and production of Silk paper of Samarkand made of Mulberry tree. Evening enjoy your free time. Overnight.

Your sightseeing will start with a visit to Gur Emir mausoleum, the burial place of Amir Temur, his spiritual teacher and his sons and grand sons. Later you will proceed to observatory of Ulughbek, Afrosiab museum with Fresco and artifacts found at Afrosiab old settlement dating back to 6 BC up to 13 AD. Shahi Zinda is the holy place of all Central Asian Muslims visited daily by many local people, where you will see the mausoleum of Temur’s sisters, Generals, Architects and the mausoleum of Kusam Ibn Abbas, the cousin of Muhammad prophet. Overnight in a Guest house.

Breakfast. Drive to Penjikent.
The city of Penjikent ("five villages") is located in Khujand area of Tajikistan in a picturesque Zeravshan river valley. Quite possibly the five villages started the history of this remarkable city which originated in the 5th-8th centuries AD. Penjikent of that time was one of the most important cultural and crafts centers of Sogd. It was even named "Central Asian Pompeii".

Museum of Rudaki – As Penjikent is a birthplace of Abu Abdallah Rudaki, considered by many to be the father of Persian Poetry.
Ancient Penjikent - ruines of old Sogdian town founded in 5th century and abandoned in th 8th century by arabs. Foundations of houses, a citadel with a couple of Zoroastrian fire temples and city bazaar are visible in the excavated ruins. Lunch. Drive to Marguzor lake 70km.
Marguzol lakes: Seven beautiful lake. The first lakes name’s Mizhgon (eyelash) - Multi-coloured, one of the most beautiful Marguzor lakes. The Soya (shade) second lake and third lakes Husher (vigilance) at height 1700м. The fourth lakes name’s Nofin length 3,5км, depth 70m. The fifth lakes Hurdak. The sixth lakes Marguzor - length of lake 5км, depth of 80 meters, and height on a sea-level of 2139м. Seventh Lake-Hazorchashma (one thousand sources) at height 2400м, length 4,5км, and depth 85м.

Drive to Alp camp Artuch. Start hiking 8km to Kuli Kalon lakes.

Lake kulikalon (big lake) is situated at an altitude of 2,800m, and is the second largest lake (after Iskandarkul) in this area. the lake actually consists of two lakes: bolshoi (large) kulikalon and maly (smaller) kulikalon, which are connected by a channel. the northern shore of the lake is indented with large and small creeks separated by capes and crevices. the lake shores are wooded. the water from maly kulikalon goes underground and emerges again 600m below as the urech river. the water at the southern end of bolshoi lake is noticeably cooler than at the northern end where it is possible to swim. its colour also changes near the shores. it looks as if the black bodies of dead animals lie motionless in the bluish-green water. there are marinka (schizothorax) fish in the lake. Kulikalon means 'big lake' in tajik.

Breakfast. Drive to Iskandarkul lake
You will see Fan Mountains – a popular tourism and mountain climbing area in Tajikistan. There are about 100 passes in height from 3200 to 5060 m (Mirali). The Fan Mountains are the highest part of Zeravshan range with 11 peaks above 5,000 m with sharp fantastical pointed forms. In the bosom of these mountains are about 30 lakes, the largest of which are Iskandarkul, and the most beautiful and picturesque, famous for the unique play of colors - Kulikalon.
Iskandarkul lake: length - 5км, width - 3,5км and depth to - 80м, located at height 2250м. The heart of Fan mountains, the treasure of Tyan-Shan, a scenic Iskandarkul lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Tajikistan. Having emerald green and blue color. A fast flouring Iskandar-darya river flows from the lake, forming a marvelous and gorgeous waterfall, so-called the “Fan Niagara” that falls from the height 38 meters.

Sightseeing the Dushanbe city: Dushanbe is the capital and largest city of Tajikistan. Dushanbe means "Monday" in Tajik (Persian language), and the name reflects the fact that the city grew on the site of a village that originally was a popular Monday marketplace. Situated at the confluence of two rivers, Varzob and Kofarnihon.

Museum of ethnography – professional showcase of 20th centure Tajik art. The collection includes pottery, carpets, cloaks, embroidery, jeweler, musical instruments, woodwork and more. Sleeping Budda.

USA passport holders above 55 years old do not need visa to Uzbekistan. Below 55 years can get online evisa to Uzbekistan. UK passport holders can get online visa to Tajikistan and they do not need visa to Uzbekistan.
Best time to travel in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan is spring from April to June and fall from August to October.
